That DRUMPF "gave permission to violence"!!!!!!!!!!!!
And she's proceeding onto how we need protection for the press to hold him accountable.

Meryl Streep received the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes on Sunday night, and slammed Donald Trump's "performance" in her acceptance speech. ....
Streep then noted that one "performance" stood out this year: that of Donald Trump when he mocked a disabled reporter at a rally. "There was nothing good about it, but it did its job," she said. "It kind of broke my heart when I saw it, and I still can't get it out my head because it wasnt in a movie, it was in real life. That instinct to humiliate when its modeled by someone in a public platform, it filters down into everyones life because it gives permission for others to do the same."
"Disrespect invites disrespect, violence incites violence," she continued. After calling for the press to stand up to Trump, Streep concluded her speech by quoting Carrie Fisher: "Take your broken heart, make it into art."

(5,810 posts)He put himself in this position to be forever mocked and humiliated, if he is even capable of feeling the sting of embarrassment. I noticed in the past few days that the bolder talk about Trump is beginning to pick up speed and not just online. Friday night Rachel Maddow called Trump a liar and never backtracked on it. Kellyanne Conjob has come under fire, too. So being called out is going to dog Trump's tracks to the end of his days. Anyone associated with him can expect the same. Trump can only threaten and sue and bully so many people at one time. Eventually the Trump supporters are going to see what a jerk their man is. In the meantime, we need more like Meryl
Streep who will speak their mind.

(988 posts)Hollywood needs to create some movies (that are entertaining) that show how despicable the GOP is.
It doesnt have to be a documentary about how bad the GOP is, just movies that subtly show the GOP and their right wing approaches as historically bad.
They can lie and call the media biased and everything else. We need to show them how biased the media can be.
