The Meghan McCain offending rural America barometer

Meghan McCain✔@MeghanMcCain

This Meryl Streep speech is why Trump won. And if people in Hollywood don't start recognizing why and how - you will help him get re-elected

Yes, the heartland can't stand actors popping off in speeches which is why the Oscars and Golden Globes gets such terrible ratings in magic rural America land.

According to Meghan McCain what rural America can't hear is an actress saying that mocking the disabled isn't okay.

However, I know what totally didn't offend these same people. Trump, "I like the people that weren't captured." That is just one of many horrible things Trump said this election cycle. Things Streep pointed out that aren't healthy for normal politics. What sane person would disagree? Well, Meghan apparently.

I think we can all excuse "liberal" Hollywood elitists if somehow their barometer for what is offensive is off compared to Meghan and her mythically-sensitive rural voters. We are after all normal and the people voting in Meghan's party are...the dude said he hates our POWs (your dad) and they voted for him anyways. Please, can we move on from how liberals in an award shows offend middle America with their harsh language because the whole point was until recently normal incredibly offensive things to say in public are now being defended while people pointing this out are being persecuted, and you Meghan want to lead that charge. That should offend all America.

We need to stop projecting. AND WE ARE PROJECTING!

AND WE ARE PROJECTING!

AND WE ARE PROJECTING!

We sat back in shock as almost 60 million of them voted for McCain/Palin even though it was straight out obvious Palin was an ignorant nut.

We were in shock as they electorate returned the Repubs to power in 2010 - blamed it on our inability to get the base out.

We were in shock as 60 million of them voted for someone that a four year old could identify as a horrible person - blamed it on our inability to get the vote.

So back to the Meghan tweet, she isn't wrong. WE ARE!

They have proven who they are yet we keep believing they can't be that bad and we need to work harder.

They can get much fucking worse, I guarantee it, they will be fine with media being controlled, liberals being jailed. I guarantee it they are that bad.

So politely scolding doesn't do it for these people, they need to be told directly, which is how Trump communicates.

So the message needs to be similar to the following; you voted for Trump who mocks people and that makes you a horrible person, DEPLORABLE in fact.

And when the push back occurs we need to double down, and NEVER BACK DOWN.

voted for the biggest celebrity of them all.

They just don't get that. To criticize Streep now is because they didn't hear the words, just read the headline and don't have empathy. At. All.

It's good for those with a voice to speak out for justice even though they are sheltered from many consequences of Trump's policies.

Who listens to DUers who speak out every day?

Meghan McCain's tweet is just foolish. There is nothing wrong with standing up to someone who attacks people who are unable to defend themselves.

I have not only never seen the show but did not even know what the opening credits sequence even looked/sounded like until I googled it to find one for a California "season" and found that youtube video.

It makes me wonder if they ever paid the O'Jay's for use of that song (although I expect NBC did). It's ironic that they even used, let alone embraced that song - especially given the message that it was trying to send. He probably personally picked it because that song came out when he was a free-wheeling swinging partying cocaine snorting playboy.
