documents to the media along with Russian propaganda spin (designed to alienate Bernie supporters)
(NOTE: I'm posting this here because Jared Kushner is being proposed as a special advisor to his father-in-law, so this relates to current events)
The documents were fed to the Observer by Guccifer, who US intelligence says was a Russian operative.
Jared published a series of stories about the supposed Clinton foundation documents, starting on October 4, as if they were credible. (I'm not going to include links to his propaganda. Anyone interested can google it.)
But The Hill analyzed the documents on October 4 and immediately exposed them as a hoax.
Kushners Observer also previously published other leaks from Guccifer, i.e, from Russian intelligence.
In September, Hillarys campaign had already pointed out the link between Russian intelligence and Kushners paper, in connection with another Guccifer (i.e., Russian) leak. Mother Jones published a story about that but it seems to have gotten little attention at the time.
And now, according to reports, DT wants to appoint Jared Kushner, the conduit for Russian leaks, as a special advisor.

Is the newspaper owned by Trump's son-in-law a cyberwar battleground?
A Hillary Clinton campaign spokesman says a new article in the New York Observer establishes a "direct link" between the Donald Trump campaign and the hacker or hackers who have recently penetrated the Democratic National Committee, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, and other high-profile Democratic officials.
On Tuesday, the Observer published a piece maintaining that the DCCC had coordinatedpresumably improperlywith the Hillary Clinton campaign in 2015. The story, written by a freelance contributor named Michael Sainato, cited "an internal DCCC memo" leaked to the Observer from Guccifer 2.0the handle of the hacker or hackers who have successfully targeted these Democratic committees. The Observer is owned by Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who has been a top adviser to the Republican presidential nominee.
Shortly after the post went up, Clinton spokesman Brian Fallon tweeted:

In an email to Mother Jones, Fallon elaborated on his tweet: "Guccifer 2.0 is known to be the Russians. And now that they are leaking materials obtained from their hacking to Trump adviser Jared Kushner's newspaper, that's a pretty direct link between Trump and the Russians behind this hack."

A new posting from the hacker alias Guccifer 2.0 purported to be documents stolen from the Clinton Foundation appears to be a hoax.
Guccifer 2.0 believed to be a misinformation campaign operated by Russian intelligence posted an 860-megabyte file on Tuesday afternoon that he claimed was donor information he hacked from Clinton Foundation servers.
A sampling of the posted documents include a spreadsheet of big bank donations, a list of primarily California donors, an outdated spreadsheet of some Republican House members and a screenshot of files he claimed to have obtained, one of which was titled Pay to Play.
But there are a number of red flags that suggest the documents are in fact from a previous hack on the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), not a new hack on the Clinton Foundation.

(7,205 posts)I saw this myself Saturday AM when I read the ICA repport.
Conveniently I was also going to respond to - yet another - one of those Reich-wing email we all get, this one dealing with the Clinton Foundation. But before I responded with "Bull-effin-shit", I read page six of that report where it showed the RT connection to Assange:
On 6 August RT published an English-language video called Julian Assange Special: Do WikiLeaks Have the E-mail Thatll Put Clinton in Prison?, and an exclusive interview with Assange entitled Clinton and ISIS Funded by the Same Money. RTs most popular video on Secretary Clinton How 100% of the Clinton's Charity Went to...Themselves had more than 9 million views on social media platforms. RTs most popular English language video about the President-elect called, Trump Will Not Be Permitted To Win, featured Assange and had 2.2 million views.
"Put Clinton in Prison." Hmmmm...where did I first hear that one? On the floor of the RNC. Putin's parrots.
"Clinton and ISIS Funded by the Same Money", "100% of the Clinton's Charity Went to...Themselves"; check, and check. The other one I read today: "Take our country back".
Sound familiar? All from the Kremlins principal international propaganda outlet, RT.
I replied with easily found facts and then hammered it home that what they thought was a brilliant accusation, was Russian propaganda and - "Heckofajob, asswads!"

This paper needs to be given the Breitbart treatment. Here's a link to the paper and their advertisers need to know they are on notice.

(988 posts)We are going to constantly here these situations where Trump or the GOP does some ruthless things.
The only time this will stop is when its big enough to cause serious problems to united states like a war, meltdown of the US Economy, etc.
We are powerless to stop any of this until it gets really bad.
This is a new normal.
