Those bumper stickers are correct: mean people DO suck.

That's not as eloquent as Meryl Streep was last night, but I think that was her point. And, in response, "for the 100th time", the Pride of the Klan trots out the "lyin' eyes" defense: "Even though the world has seen the video of me mocking the disabled reporter, I have never mocked a disabled reporter."

The whole disgusting episode brought to mind Rash Limburger's mocking of Michael J. Fox's Parkinsons tremors.

Both of these acts of wanton cruelty, if done in person---face to face---with the often-referenced "American people", would likely result in Mr. Trump and Mr. Limbaugh losing a few teeth or, at least, being told to "get the hell out of here before you get hurt." THAT is the America I grew up in and one that I pray still exists.

Not that you would want to actually hurt someone. Intellectually you are tempted and feel like you might want to do something once a line is crossed. We now have endless lines that have already been crossed over and over again and the inauguration is still a few days off.

I with the John L Sullivan days existed. There was a time when most of these assholes would be laying the street wondering what the hell hit them.
