Intel says Donald Trump agreed to let Russia have Ukraine in exchange for hacking election

http://www.palmerreport.com/news/donald-trump-ukraine-russia-hacking-election/808/

Donald is going to wet his pants, Tweetstorm at 12 o'clock!

In the hours since an intelligence report about Donald Trump and Russia went public which the FBI, NSA and CIA all thought was credible enough to brief the President on, most of the focus has been on Trump’s alleged sexual antics included in the report. It included everything from Trump being involved with Russian prostitutes, to Russia videotaping it all and planning to blackmail him. But there’s another, potentially more serious accusation in the report: Trump agreed to let Russia have Ukraine in return for its role in helping him get elected.

The accusations in the intel report in question, which came from a former British MI6 intelligence officer, have not yet been proven. All we know thus far is that the U.S. intel community did consider the report viable enough that it briefed both President Obama and Trump himself on the matter. The most damning passage may be the following, which appears on pages seven and eight:

“Inter alia, Source E, acknowledged that the Russian regime had been behind the recent leak of embarrassing e-mail messages, emanating from the Democratic National Committee (DNC), to the WikiLeaks platform. The reason for using WikiLeaks was “plausible deniability? and the operation had been conducted with the full knowledge and support of TRUMP and senior members of his campaign team. In return the TRUMP team had agreed to sideline Russian intervention in Ukraine as a campaign issue and to raise defence commitments in the Baltics and Eastern Europe to de?ect attention away from Ukraine, 3 priority for PUTIN who needed to cauterise the subject.”

If this particular detail of the intel report can be proven, it represents treason and it would almost certainly result in Trump’s eventual impeachment.

the media and republicans are so horrible these days that even if this could be proven, they probably still wouldn't impeach him.

in truth, the golden shower thing has a better chance of resulting in impeachment.

Especially in the hands of a hyper partisan congress.

Perhaps the only impeachable offense for donnie might be vetoing a tax cut.

Of course if a democrat had solicited prostitution, they'd certainly be impeached.

How The Trump Campaign Weakened The Republican Platform On Aid To Ukraine
August 6, 201611:29 AM ET

It started when platform committee member Diana Denman tried to insert language calling for the U.S. to provide lethal defensive weapons to the Ukrainian government, which is fighting a separatist insurrection backed by Russia. Denman says she had no idea she was "going into a fire fight," calling it "an interesting exchange, to say the least."

Denman is a long time GOP activist from Texas. When she presented her proposal during a platform subcommittee meeting last month, "two gentleman," whom Denman said were part of the Trump campaign, came over, looked at the language, and asked that it be set aside for further review.

She says after further discussion the pair "had to make some calls and clear it." She says they found the language was still too strong.

The Trump campaign convinced the platform committee to change Denman's proposal. It went from calling on the U.S. to provide Ukraine "lethal defensive weapons" to the more benign phrase "appropriate assistance."

Right now I'd imagine the House Republicans are sitting around asking each other whether they think they can prop up Trump long enough to ram their own legislation through, or whether they need to turn against him to save their own skin. But I seriously doubt much of that conversation has to do with what's best for America. Why would they start caring now?

so they wouldn't have to prop him up for long.

My guess is they've just been hanging with Trump for fear of a backlash from Trump's noisy & wacky fans.

I hate that all this is happening, but it sure would be sweet to see that egomaniac go bigly down in flames. A nice long perp walk would be good.

That GOP do-nothing Congress doesn't do anything for America if there's no reward for them to reap.

Do the Russians have something on Comey, or embarrassing shit about the agency he's in charge of?

This has never made sense to any of us regarding the NY FBI's revolting agents, and Rudy G all excited on TV about knowing things were about to happen, etc.

Then after Comey sent that letter we never heard another peep about those FBI agents in NY, or at least I haven't.

It just doesn't make sense.

I'm leery of anything that is "too easy" and plain.

There isn't just political motivation behind these sorts of things, but all apparently a decent chunk of change can be made by telling people what they want to hear.

*Maybe I judged a book by its cover and spoke to soon... ? Either way, I'm skeptical enough to not go all in and will make my own assessments after reading the source material myself. heh as if anyone cares what I think or do.

https://www.buzzfeed.com/kenbensinger/these-reports-allege-trump-has-deep-ties-to-russia

I might be overlooking it, but does anyone know how Buzzfeed got this? I saw a CNN article mentioning this, but they said they were not releasing the full document. Is this something that they gave out to anyone who is considered the media (say Buzzfeed?), or did buzzfeed get a leaked copy? Is the CNN source an official source or a leak? If so, I'm curious what their source is and how trust worthy it is. I'm not sure I fully trust Buzzfeed here. Not because I think they are being deceptive on purpose, but rather that they might be a soft target that is easily duped into becoming a useful idiot to add uncertainty and doubt to the mix with regards to information in a real report. Maybe I'm being too paranoid, but this is some next level stuff we've been dealing with.

35. Buzzfeed said that document had been passed around the media for weeks

Evidence for that, for instance: after the CNN story came out, but before Buzzfeed published, Rick Wilson, "a GOP communications and campaign strategist who ran former CIA officer Evan McMullin’s independent campaign for President", tweeted:

"Two words on the "personal" compromise.

Ritz. Carlton."

https://twitter.com/TheRickWilson/status/818951873248055296?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw

I think this is a correct amount of skepticism. From what David Corn seems to be intimating, this is, indeed, the file he saw before his reporting on this back at the end of October 2016.

John Schindler, a former NSA Tech Director, is indicating this is legit – both what CNN reported and the report that Buzzfeed posted.

Retired Senior Chief Petty Officer, and Naval Intelligence officer, Malcolm Nance, who’s book on Russian active measures to disrupt the 2016 election was published several months before the election, also supports Corn’s reporting and his confirmation that this is the information he saw and referenced for his October 2016 reporting.

Rick Wilson, who ran former CIA National Clandestine Service officer Evan McMullin’s Independent campaign for the presidency, and who was trying to work this oppo research into the media during the campaign, is also confirming this is, at least, some of that material. He also denies being Buzzfeed’s source.

Liz Mair, who was also working for a competing campaign during the GOP primaries has indicated that some the material in the oppo research report that Buzzfeed posted is material that she’s familiar with.

https://www.balloon-juice.com/2017/01/11/thoughts-on-the-report-buzzfeed-posted/

(Lots of links at that link)

So I think plenty of other people, Republicans and media (and I'd guess, though I don't know if any have said or hinted yet, Democrats) have seen the reports from the "ex-MI6 officer". But Buzzfeed has decided it can go public with it, after CNN came out with their story. As that last link I gave says, if Michael Cohen can show he wasn't in Prague around the time alleged, that will sink the credibility of that report.
