I'm Not Getting Excited About The Latest Trump Rumors

By all accounts, this guy should never have gotten past the primaries. Everything he did or said in the past was supposed to take him down, but nothing did.

Next week he places his hand on a stack of Russian IOU's and becomes the 45th President of the United States.

Call me when some charges actually stick to him and end the nightmare.

Screw it. I'm burned out.

This is deadly serious now.

And if Trump is ever removed, look who is waiting to take his place - Pence.

6. Insofar as Pence has political power he'll be very bad

But if the President is removed from power, than the Vice President essentially becomes a lame duck - in fairness that means power will devolve to the House (largely), which isn't much better. But there's little question that removing Trump from power will decrease the power of Republicans and create opportunities for Democrats, if they can capitalize on them.

2. The problem is that even if he goes, Republicans will stay in power and that's not right.

The entire election was illegitimate and it most likely should have been Democrats staying in power. But we'll never know because there is only a remedy for removing the POTUS.

We are screwed with either cretin in charge, but Pence wouldn't blow up the world over a tweet.

11. It just now occurs to me that the GOP's real strategy may be to use Trump to normalize Pence.

Let Trump get so scary that when they impeach him and bring Pence in, we'll all heave a sigh of relief and they can implement their right wing theocratic agenda with much less complaint. But then they would still have to do deal with angry Trump voters. I don't know what's scarier--the idea that this is a strategy, or the idea that they have absolutely no clue what to do.

Clearly they have enough intel against him to pull it off.
