Okay, I admit it... I did enjoy this episode, and it will certainly go down as one of the best episodes of the season: "Intell services release unsubstantiated watersports rumors, hilarity ensues."

But if we want this show off the air, we need to get the denouement in the can.

Because the Russians are telling the truth about one thing: Golden showers with sex workers is NOT the "kompromat" they have on the Septic Sphincter. They know perfectly well that however humiliating and amusing the response to that might be, it not only won't get him impeached, it won't get him removed from office, tried, found guilty, and incarcerated.

So why would they bother with it, other than for shits and giggles? Or should that be "trickles and giggles...?"

Either way, that's not the string they use to control their puppet.

The real strings are deeper, stronger, and related to the only thing other than his ego that the Nuclear Cheeto gives a rat's ass about: MONEY.

He's in hock, bigly, to some elements that are technically 'unconnected' with the Russian 'government' per se. The Russian government and the Russian mob maintain the appearance of 'no connection,' of course.

The reality is, the mob players and the government players may have different labels on top but underneath they horse trade and quid-pro-quo and backstab each other very much like an internecine power struggle in a big multinational corporation. That way President/CEO Putin has plausible deniability for the shadier aspects of doing business.

So while the Septic Sphincter may be, on the surface, 'clean' of any Russian government strings, I'm betting there's very serious kompromat indeed on him, via Russian mob, sorry "business" connections, who are providing a quid-pro-quo for Putin by handing him those strings as needed.

And those are people who can do more than humiliate you on Twitter, especially with assistance from the left hand, via the KGB, sorry, the FSB.

THAT'S where the digging needs to be focused.

What ultimately brought Nixon down was he used the FBI to spy on the CIA (or the other way around) to find out what his enemies knew about Watergate. The coverup. It could be the same here.

It would also be great to prove Trump is behind Comey. That could be a scandal. He got the NY FBI office to put pressure on Comey to release the news of reopening the investigation.

Our task now is to be sure it doesn't distract from rooting out the real smoking gun.

Because if my suspicion is accurate (and I'm by no means the only one who suspects this) the people who DO hold his strings play nasty and they play for keeps.

And that might also explain the whole "running for President" thing, now I think about it. Who's better protected from 'fatal encounters?'

He may think it makes him somewhat safer.

It's ugly any way it plays out.
