It's about bribery -- Russian money going to DT associates.
This article also contains new information about the source of the "dossier." Well worth reading the whole thing.

Last April, the CIA director was shown intelligence that worried him. It was - allegedly - a tape recording of a conversation about money from the Kremlin going into the US presidential campaign.
It was passed to the US by an intelligence agency of one of the Baltic States. The CIA cannot act domestically against American citizens so a joint counter-intelligence taskforce was created.
The taskforce included six agencies or departments of government. Dealing with the domestic, US, side of the inquiry, were the FBI, the Department of the Treasury, and the Department of Justice. For the foreign and intelligence aspects of the investigation, there were another three agencies: the CIA, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the National Security Agency, responsible for electronic spying.
Lawyers from the National Security Division in the Department of Justice then drew up an application. They took it to the secret US court that deals with intelligence, the Fisa court, named after the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. They wanted permission to intercept the electronic records from two Russian banks.
Their first application, in June, was rejected outright by the judge. They returned with a more narrowly drawn order in July and were rejected again. Finally, before a new judge, the order was granted, on 15 October, three weeks before election day.

Haven't we heard that something on the order of a dozen were rejected over three decades?
And this gets rejected twice!!??
Finally granted... three weeks before the election... and where does it stand now?
From the story:
"The CIA, FBI, Justice and Treasury all refused to comment when I approached them after hearing about the Fisa warrant.
It is not clear what will happen to the inter-agency investigation under President Trump - or even if the taskforce is continuing its work now."

No other potential FISA case is comparable to this one -- involving a Republican Presidential candidate less than a month away from the election.

After the BBC had accused the Labour government of "sexing up" the documents that led the UK into the 2nd Iraq War, journalistic standards actually went up, despite the fact that in the end the journalists involved were pretty much vindicated. I know BBC journalists are careful to ensure that what they report on is credible. They may not be the first with any "breaking news" but they are usually "right".

(789 posts)Yes, some of the media and the keepers of information (CIA, FBI, et. al.) made there thoughts known, but not nearly loudly enough.
So April of 16, the cat was out of the bag, yet here in January of 17, when this shit-bag is nine-fucking-days from taking office they all jump up and yell "Fire" in our proverbial movie theater.
May God help us all..... because we're going to need it.

(17,984 posts)It's not like Putin himself went to his bank and sent a money order. There are so many intermediaries that it will take time to connect the dots. If the current intelligence agencies keep at it, they will be able to give irrefutable evidence. Therefore, tRump needs to get in there and slash these agencies.

I just cant see how this guy keeps his job. Certainly should be remembered for what he did.
Trump will get in office and they will quash all work on this in FBI and CIA period.
