Could Bannon/Trump have leaked the golden showers story to Buzzfeed?

Maybe this is farfetched, but Trump could benefit by shifting the focus from his actual collusion with Russia to an uproar over peeing hookers, where he can "divert the flow". Karl Rove supposedly bugged his own office as a stunt and it's likely that Trump/Bannon will have plenty of manipulate the media tricks up their sleeves.

We may never know, but do you think it's possible that Trump orchestrated this the day before his press conference to give him something he could claim was false and distract attention from his real collusion with Russia and conflicts of interest?

Notice he didn't deny the content of the intel report today during his presser, he spoke with indignation that the report had been released. I wouldn't be surprised by anything these nutjobs do.

The paragraph about the golden showers is placed half way down the second page of a section of the report that also talks about business deals and Russian support. Trump would hardly hide the story in another story he wanted to keep quiet.

12. True, I wonder who highlighted the copy that Buzzfeed posted

I thought about that, though the report did claim that Trump had declined Putin's attempts to lure him financially (a detail he might like having included). I said I thought the theory was farfetched, not sure if I believe it, but the idea occurred to me.

I wonder who highlighted the copy of the report that Buzzfeed posted. That is kind of an odd detail - they could have easily removed it digitally.

We're likely in for 4 years of complete insanity.

Based on his view of women, I believe all of it.

Degrade two women and the Obamas. He probably had a sick hard on for days.

His actions and reactions are not those of a sane person. As people around here would say, "The boy ain't right".

If they wanted to plant a fake story, they wouldn't have gone with something that most of the citizenry, especially the GOP "base", would find so vile and perverted - and something that can't be disproven.

They would have gone with a story they could later triumphantly disprove - e.g. attach a date to the story, then later produce travel documents showing that Trump had left Russia the day before the alleged incident took place. If the "fake story" could be disproven beyond all doubt, it would render all of the other stories about Trump's ties to Russia as suspect.

If you're going to plant "fake news" as a distraction, you do so knowing that you have an "out".

It just seems that the "deplorables" find any of his deplorable behaviors acceptable;and when that's impossible, they deny, minimize, rationalize, project, etc. etc. etc. A Trump supporter I know (I live in Alaska, so I am surrounded by them, at least in my area) claimed Trump as "His Turd" when in an angry exchange I told him that Trump was a disgusting turd. This followed an argument spurred by Meryl Streep's speech the other night that got very unpleasant.
