They are not trying to figure out how to maintain coverage and other benefits of the ACA nor are they working on a replacement.
I'll guarantee you they are devising a plan to blame Democrats when the crap hits the fan after repeal.
That's who they are. Cold hearted scammers.

(34,661 posts)That has been the GOP plan from the get go. People just do not get it. The Republican Party has been working through the State Legislatures via Gerrymandering,in order to maintain what Karl Rove calls the Permanent Republican Majority.
Koch Brothers have set up what sounds like consumer friendly sounding non profits in all 50 states. These lobbying groups targeting Health Care,Unions, and Social Security-Medicare. They have spent millions on these groups and now they want their due. Their goal is a Libertarian Society the same as Kansas.

Remember the Republican M.O. when they hate a successful gov't program that improves the lives of millions (that's all of them: medicare, social security, ACA) - simply STARVE IT OF REVENUE. Steal it, divert it, tie it up elsewhere but STARVE it.

the *only* thing republicans actually hate about the aca (other than it was an obama victory) is that its taxes are very progressive. remember that this was originally a right-wing heritage foundation idea.
their ideal replacement would have the same features but be funded with a much more regressive tax, like a national sales tax -- except that's too obvious, they need something that can be downplayed.
