C-Span is hacked by the Russians but then says it "doesn't believe it was hacked"

(Click on the video on this page and tell me if you think C-Span was not hacked when one of our representatives are speaking on the floor and then all these Russian goofy things show up and then a Russian news channel finishes the news.)

"Moscow, we have a problem.

Web surfers expecting to tune into C-SPAN's online feed of debate in the House on Thursday instead saw images supplied by the Russian news site RT, which briefly interrupted programming on the network's website.

Spokesman Howard Mortman said the website, www.c-span.org, was replaced by RT for about 10 minutes. The problem was likely a routing issue, since RT is one of the networks that C-SPAN regularly monitors, he said.

The network is "investigating and troubleshooting this occurrence," Mortman said. The network later said it doesn't believe it was hacked."

(If it wasn't hacked what happened? Does C-Span always have a Russian news site "RT" running along side of it's coverage of our government programming?)

OK Maybe I am wrong but. Why would C-Span have a feed up to RT in the first place? Maraya1969 Jan 2017 #2

i'm sure they monitor cnn and foxnews and cbs and so on as well, but normally just route it internally so they can see if anyone else is reporting any breaking news they need to know about.

separately, someone's always deciding which feed goes on the air, camera one or camera two, or the remote feed, etc.

i can see how they could accidentally put the wrong feed on the air, in this case it happened to be the rt feed.

i know, coincidence and all, but it seems like an odd thing for someone to do deliberately.

And before the actual news caster there was stupid shit that I guess I'll have to go watch

This is what Maxine Waters had to say about it

"Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., later said she found it curious that she had just begun criticizing a Republican bill she contended would damage the regulatory authority of the Securities and Exchange Commission when the RT programming broke in. She also was criticizing President-elect Donald Trump for choosing someone with deep ties to Wall Street to lead the SEC.

"Placed in the context of current events concerning cyberattacks and foreign interference in our elections, it is very important that C-SPAN provide a clear and concise explanation for the interruption of its online broadcast before we can reach any conclusions or establish the basis for additional inquiry," Waters said in a statement."

chief is removed.

Interesting timing.

I think it's possible that Russia is showing us that they have more "hooks" into our systems than we were aware of.

Especially after the congressional hearing room blackout earlier in the day, just when the issue about Russia came up.

Interesting? Or a Russian "shot across the bow" as retaliation?

And, remember DU being hacked on Election Day?

Coincidence? i think not.
