"He came to believe there was a cover-up, that a cabal within the bureau BLOCKED a thorough inquiry"

Last edited Sat Jan 14, 2017, 01:19 PM - Edit history (2)

The British and other international papers are offering extraordinary detail on the Trump-Russia-FBI scandal:

The combo of the @Independent's reporting and the anger of Democrats hints that Comey may have resisted investigating Trump pre-election.

The Water Sports Memo (for want of a better term) dates from July 2016. Three months later, FBI does press release on Clinton instead. Why?

Updated to include:

Mr Steele produced a memo, which went to the FBI, stating that Mr Trump’s campaign team had agreed to a Russian request to dilute attention on Moscow’s intervention in Ukraine.

Four days later Mr Trump stated that he would recognise Moscow’s annexation of Crimea.

A month later officials involved in his campaign asked the Republican party’s election platform to remove a pledge for military assistance to the Ukrainian government against separatist rebels in the east of the country.

The entire deranged body of conservative elective officials, never ending stream of profiteering conservative media establishment and their mouth breathing horde of 100 million or so pods lose their shit instantaneously over whatever ridiculous bullshit they come up with at any given moment.

THIS has driven the political dialogue in this country for a quarter century now, in an ever increasingly radical and outraged fashion.

Demoracats ... It took until NOW, when it has been stunningly obvious this asshole is SERIOUSLY tied into Russia, it is only NOW, that people are lit up over it?

It starts with the head, the elected officials, there has PLENTY Of evidence to take it to DEFCON 1 with him for over half a year now. And, the country as a whole.

There is no fucking way a democrat could have publically called for russia to hack republican e-mails. There is no fucking way a democrat could have so many high level operatives with a candidate, much the less the candidate himself, have so many direct ties to Russia ... NO WAY these things could happen and that candidate not be absolutely viscerated.

give a damn about our democracy. They are willing to sell out. Hundreds of years invested in creating the American Experiment, and they'd sell out to facism. The cultivated ignorance of the masses just might keep them in power for ages.

1/3 of us see what is unfolding and are helplessly watching it unfold.

1/3 of the country is gleefully supporting fascism out of its deranged partisanship.

1/3 of the country doesn't care.

We are just going over the cliff Republicans are plowing us over.

Ignorant people are too ignorant to know that they're ignorant. And far less inclined to deep thought of any kind, particularly self reflection.

The cultivation of ignorance was a master stroke. The enlightenment was really fucking with the ruling class so they had to suppress it.

If you were truly innocent and well-meaning and honest, wouldn't you be shouting from the rooftops about your innocence, and be embracing all attempt to get to the bottom of this, and clear their names and confirm that they're on the up-n-up?

After all, they've often said to us: "if you've done nothing wrong, then you have nothing to worry about."

Pence and Trump were voted on together, and they should be removed together. My own belief is that part of the reason for this brouhaha is to divert attention from Kris Kobach and his dirty "Crosscheck" election fraud program, which did serious damage to, not only Hillary Clinton, but Democrats all over the country at lower levels. Trump did not campaign like a man who wanted to win, everybody saw that, and took it as one more indication he was going to lose. And, he kept exhorting his audiences not to pay attention to the polls. He said they were "purposefully" wrong. The real powers that be put Pence on the ticket knowing Trump would be temporary president. Or precedent.

"Trump did not campaign like a man who wanted to win..." seems to suggest that someone else wanted him to run. Putin had already compromised him and pushed him to run perhaps. The whole campaign might have been a Russian plan and Trump merely playing the assigned role in it.
Perhaps the rise of the Tea Party gave Russia an opportunity to quietly enter the political campaign and right-wing media arenas and use the anger, fear, and hatred to their own end. If so, it was easy for them. Then there was Trump, a greedy, vain, ignoramus who was easily compromised--both financially and sexually.

Unfortunately, that would mean "President" Ryan.

Right now, we lose any way you slice it.

I sure hope everybody gets out there and votes in the midterms instead of shrugging off and staying home (because there's something supposedly "better" or "more important" to do that day). We can fix this as soon as 2018.
