Don't know that I paid a lot of attention, but Comey wasn't a big news item until October 2016. Until then ... not a prob, or at least no more than the average high-level appointment.

When Ashcroft was in the hospital. It gave Comey an air of bipartisanship that Obama respected.

Unfortunately, not trusting Bush, doesn't equal not liking Donald.
