(13,305 posts)..was watching his interview with Lester Holt last night. Such an amazing man. I had some issues with him policy wise over 8 years, but compared to the good he did, totally miniscule. And even then my issues were more with him clinging too steadfastly to an outdated view of politics and Washington DC establishment in general.
But how anyone could watch this man, listen to him speak and not think that he 100% loved this country and it's people with every fibre of his being is beyond me.

...how stark the contrast is right now between the expectations we had for him, and the political realities of a fully empowered republican opposition.

(13,305 posts)..how he won two elections with such relative ease. Our back bench, whoever they may be would be wise to study this man and the ease with which he travels among so many different groups of people. It really makes the hatred so many Republicans (both elected officials and citizens) had for him seem that much more delusional and psychotic. I don't want anyones lives to be worse, but it will be inevitable under Trump. I just hope that so many who were fooled come to realize just how much better their lives were under President Obama.
