Trump once planned to build Trump Towers Atlanta in John Lewis's "crime-infested" district

Here's an old article on it from the Atlanta Journal Constitution:

http://www.myajc.com/news/state--regional-govt--politics/trump-return-atlanta-reminder-midtown-misfire/1grn6GKOjfx7XWnXYtObXJ/#74b2c77e.3564794.735815

I started checking for info on this after seeing Maggie Haberman tweet this context for Trump and Atlanta:

As nearly as I can tell from checking the zip code of the Woodruff Arts Center, which is only a couple of blocks from the site planned for that Trump project, this is the 30309 area code, which is in John Lewis's district.

Wonder if Trump was even aware of that when he attacked Lewis today...

It was to be built directly across from the Arts Center. Good riddance. CurtEastPoint Jan 2017 #1
Thanks! And I agree -- good riddance to any of Trump's trashy projects. highplainsdem Jan 2017 #3

his district in Atlanta includes the headquarters of Coke, Home Depot, UPS, Delta Airlines, AT&T, Rubbermaid, Georgia Tech, Emory U, GA State, and Atlanta-Hartsfield (ATL), the busiest airport in the nation. One might argue that the headquarters of Trump-supporting Home Depot is "crime infested," but that's not what Trump was talking about. He meant black people, who, of course, in his mind and those of his supporters, are all criminals.
