Is the new administration throwing stuff out there just to track the flow of information?

I know it's an understatement to call the new administration and its lackeys a group of ignorant, incompetent, racist traitors. However, I am starting to wonder if they are releasing all of these crazy stories and leaks in order to track the flow of information from its inside source to its external publication.

Information itself is very powerful but controlling the flow of information is even more powerful. Maybe I'm giving these idiots too much credit. I simply think we need to be very cautious and not underestimate them.
