When you have a gun in a combat situation, you use it to fight your way to the next gun, or at least its ammo.

Ultimately they lost because of improved tactics and mounting casualties, but they were not forgotten.

watch "All the Way" with Bryan Cranston, et.al. about LBJ's first couple of years in office after the Kennedy assassination. I remember that era quite well and the movie and the acting are spot on.

The Republicans, many of whom were called Dixiecrats, have not changed in decades. The Dixiecrats, vintage so-called democrats, are the WORST of the Repukes today. The movie is absolutely fantastic!
