Filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza, who directed the 2016 anti-Hillary Clinton documentary Hillary's America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party, has come under fire on social media following a statement he tweeted Saturday afternoon calling civil rights icon Rosa Parks contributions to the movement "absurdly inflated."

"My point about Rosa Parks is that, as with so many other Democrats, her reputation is absurdly inflated compared to what she actually did," D'Souza tweeted.
