Trump could not do that as it involves money and that means purse strings/Congress. KittyWampus Jan 2017 #6

I do not even know what Medicare might cost me. I suspect that the prescription benefits (part D??) may far exceed the reach of my current plan. If so, that would be a game changer for me, and I would switch ASAP. Isn't the sign up closed til November?

shape or form. But, it's a moot point because the GOP Congress has one goal and one goal only: make sure only people who can afford it get medical treatment. The rest of the slackers are expected to die.

But in the real world of the GOP, its more likely that they will dismantle everything, hand each of us a coupon book, and tell the semi-literate Trump that they just accomplished all of his goals.

Executive orders cannot change programs like ACA, SS and Medicare that cost trillions of dollars from federal budget each year. Only Congress can do that. ;

Sadly there is a lot of wishful magical thinking going around about Trump giving everyone single payer with one govt run health plan.

Are people forgetting the man is an unethical dishonest con artist who fooled enough people to vote for him and now he is trying to fool everyone else when he has no plan and the Repubs have no plan because they have no intention of spending the money it would require for single payer or even adequate subsidies to help everyone have truly affordable health care and they refuse to increase taxes sufficiently to make ACA more generous.

You can't implement univeral healthcare by simply declaring it into existence. Dropping hundreds of millions of people into Medicare with little preparation and a lack of legislation would be a nightmare for the program.
