IOW, Medicare for All--
Would his approval ratings improve? I would celebrate that myself, if it happened, and I hate Trump.

(2,297 posts)I do not even know what Medicare might cost me. I suspect that the prescription benefits (part D??) may far exceed the reach of my current plan. If so, that would be a game changer for me, and I would switch ASAP. Isn't the sign up closed til November?

(5,268 posts)Executive orders cannot change programs like ACA, SS and Medicare that cost trillions of dollars from federal budget each year. Only Congress can do that. ;
Sadly there is a lot of wishful magical thinking going around about Trump giving everyone single payer with one govt run health plan.
Are people forgetting the man is an unethical dishonest con artist who fooled enough people to vote for him and now he is trying to fool everyone else when he has no plan and the Repubs have no plan because they have no intention of spending the money it would require for single payer or even adequate subsidies to help everyone have truly affordable health care and they refuse to increase taxes sufficiently to make ACA more generous.

(4,490 posts)You can't implement univeral healthcare by simply declaring it into existence. Dropping hundreds of millions of people into Medicare with little preparation and a lack of legislation would be a nightmare for the program.
