Mayor Jim Fouts of Warren, Michigan came under fire on Monday after audio surfaced of him allegedly using disparaging remarks against African-Americans and women. In recordings obtained by Motor City Muckraker, Fouts reportedly uses the N-word and refers to older women as “dried-up c*nts.”

“Blacks do look like chimpanzees,” the voice says in one recording. “I was watching this black woman with her daughter and they looked like two chimps.”

In one piece of audio, the 74-year-old mayor allegedly explains that he does not date older women.

“Think I want to date a f*cking 60-year-old hag?” Fouts opines. “F*ck that shit. I’m not interested in any old ugly hag. I think after a certain age they are dried up, washed up burned out.”

Wikipedia says he is an Independent . . . sure sounds like a republican to me!

I know we all suffer bad photographs occasionally, but rarely anything like that.

WARREN, Mich. - Warren Mayor Jim Fouts said new audio released Monday by MotorCityMuckraker.com, which alleges racist and sexist comments by the mayor, is fake.

Fouts insists the audio recordings, which allegedly captured him making racist comments about black people and vulgar sexist comments about women, have been fabricated by Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel. The source of the recordings is not known and was not reported.

"Those are engineered tapes by Mark Hackel and his friends. That is not my voice," Fouts said Monday as he left a Martin Luther King Jr. Day event in Warren. "Those are engineered tapes inspired by Mark Hackel, just like the last one. It is not me. That is not me at all."

Warren is a "suburb of Detroit, it is the third largest city in the state of Michigan.

Let me apologize in advance for the "I told you so/ in your face" during the primaries someone posted an OP touting the fact that the "independent" Mayor of Michigan's third largest city was supporting sander's (He went on to vote for tRump). At the time I tried to tell people that this was no major victory or coup for sanders ... this guy (Fouts is a racist, homophobic piece of trash) that no one would want the support of. Yes voters in my fair city keep electing/ re-electing him .... warren is in Macomb county .... you can always win in Macomb County by running on racism!

For the record, I don't or never have lived in Warren, but did live much of my life in the Detroit suburbs, so I do keep up with all the local news.

Fouts made his reputation in the 70's & 80's as the local community gadfly and rabble rouser so to speak. He would attend every city meeting & loved holding the local politicians accountable while being unrelenting most of the time. He was elected to the City Council where he served a couple decades and then was elected mayor approx. 10 yrs ago.

As I recall, he started out with a lot of good reforms, but over the years seemed to enjoy his power a little too much and became the type of bombastic politician he once seemed to despise.

He has had a feud with Macomb County Exec. Mark Hackel for awhile and has accused Hackel of creating these "fake" recordings
