We have an opening on the 20th!

For all your DU'ers who have D congressmen, encourage them to follow Representative Lewis's lead. Encourage them to sit out and hold fast. One way we can DO THIS is to finally stand united! Remember we are not the pussies they portray us to be. We got heads bashed for civil rights. We rallied for peace during Vietnam. We died at Kent State. We protested and against the lack of efforts to help those affected by AIDS. We protested the Iraq invasion and torture . We need to unite to stand up to the power of Russian influence. It happened in Ukraine when a pro-russian president was installed the general outrage and protest were effective. WE NEED TO KEEP TRUMP CHECK OR WE WILL BE STEAM-ROLLED.
I ENCOURAGE YOU TO CALL YOUR CONGRESSMAN AND ASK HIM TO REFUSE TO ATTEND HIS FAKE INAUGURATION!
RANT OFF
My Senator is Bill Nelson you can use this link to encourage him to stand up

6. I can relate... have a young son myself. If anyone can get through to these lazy asses, its Bernie.

Bernie did an awesome job reaching and mobilizing the younger generation, something Hillary couldn't come close to doing. Of course, its the older generations that vote in droves, which is why Bernie needs to continue the fight, while, AT THE SAME TIME - yes, iow, NOT mutually exclusive - the Democratic party develops fresh, younger political talent to bring off the bench and follow in Bernie's progressive populist footsteps.

7. Couldn't agree more... expecting Bernie to join the boycott. Hillary, I'm afraid, is set on "honoring the office"...

Too bad, the office is not deserving of honor when occupied by an illegitimate President like Adolf tRump.

Neither of the people in their offices knew if the senator and representative are planning to go to the inauguration. I told them I really do NOT want them to go.

Since I have contributed to both for campaigns and have been on their mailing lists for a long time, maybe that will help sway them to stay away on the 20th!

ETA - Try Bill Nelson's local offices. I could NOT get through to his Washington DC office at all.
