(ANTIMEDIA) The sheriffs department in Forsyth County, Georgia, recently drew widespread attention on social media and not in a good way.
Last week, the Forsyth County Sheriffs Facebook page shared multiple images of a cannabis grow operation they raided. Our Narcotic Detectives confiscated 126 marijuana plants growing inside the house, the police post explained. Along with the plants, we also found trash bags containing dried green leafy materials suspected of being marijuana.
Though Georgia technically allows medical marijuana, the law is restrictive and bans the cultivation, processing, and sale of cannabis. According to the police:
One arrest was made for Manufacturing, Trafficking, and Possession with Intent to Distribute.
Arrests like this reflect the commitment the Forsyth County Sheriffs Office has to our community and keeping everyone safe.
The Forsyth County Sheriffs office has over 50,000 likes on its Facebook page. A cursory scroll of their posts shows their average level of engagement a few hundred likes here, several dozen shares there. But their post on confiscating marijuana drew a firestorm of critical attention.
The post has received over 1,400 shares, over 2,900 comments, and has been inundated with Americans who are tired of the war on a plant that is increasingly proving to have medical benefits.
going through the comments its amazing. im through about 300 out of 4000 and so far not a single person supported the cops.
read for yourself.

(13,538 posts)okay the weed shops. That was an ongoing battle for a couple of years despite the voters saying okay.
Not wanting to admit defeat, one old woman ex-council member circulated a petition to bring it up for another vote to shut the shops down. She and her helpers failed miserably.
In a letter to the editor, she detailed having doors slammed in her face and being treated horribly by "drug users". One she actually quoted as saying, "I use drugs and am going to continue to use drugs no matter what you do!" Obviously a flat assed, stone cold lie! No one would say that to her, especially a stoner! I myself won't even ever acknowledge that weed is a "drug". I may joke about alcohol being "heavy drugs"! LOL Ever lift a 160 lb keg?
With people like that old lady, it's all about the 60's and the hippies. It's what I call the "eat shit effect"! Their worst nightmare is that weed is legal all over and nothing much comes of it. Or even worse, there is a significant financial benefit as far as the tax revenue. They are terrified of being proven wrong for all those years!
edited for there, their, they're error! DOH!
