It was more likely parents bitching to administration about something they "heard a teacher said"

The things that DT has said and the way he has conducted himself is setting an example to bully. It has to be addressed in some classrooms at some point.

Kids mocking disabled, telling students of Mexican decent they're going to be deported, lunchrooms chanting "build the wall"... all of that was reportedly going on after the election.

if professors were told not to "criticize" Trump or say anything at all about politics. But then universities are a very different environment -- still it's hard to imagine high schools or junior high schools ordering teachers not to say anything "negative" about Trump.

Accurate and relevant observations are often held as 'political opinion.'

It would be impossible for to teach FDR's impact on the nation (or that of any other president) without being interpreted by one or more as 'political opinion.'

But do keep pretending you know what does and does not belong in the classroom.

Many conservatives enraged over Obama school speech

snip//

The White House said the address, set for Tuesday, and accompanying suggested lesson plans are simply meant to encourage students to study hard and stay in school.

Many conservative parents aren't buying it. They're convinced the president is going to use the opportunity to press a partisan political agenda on impressionable young minds.

"Thinking about my kids in school having to listen to that just really upsets me," suburban Colorado mother Shanneen Barron told CNN Denver affiliate KMGH. "I'm an American. They are Americans, and I don't feel that's OK. I feel very scared to be in this country with our leadership right now."

that I don't really know what to do.

I don't have a lot of dough to be donating, but I do occasionally make donations to candidates or organizations. (In fact, just came across some records from Obama's campaigns showing I'd donated even more than I remembered, especially the first time--I was soooooo determined not to let the female Trump lite, Palin, near the White House!)

Now I get what seems like hundreds of requests a week for donations, and I really don't know who is going to best use the funds they're raising.

Other than donating the small amount I can, if I figure out who to donate to, I don't know what to do. I really would love for the Dems to finally realize the need to unmercifully combat the RW propaganda machine and enlist us, somehow, to help with a concerted effort.

They need to hire experts to figure out what we can do and to co-ordinate it. I know Dems are supposedly as hard to herd as cats, but maybe we're finally ready for a unified fight.

schools are supposedly trying to brainwash kids to be liberal.

There was a right-wing secretary at one of my places of employment who I'd briefly disagreed with on some political issues one day. A few days later when I asked her for some needed supplies, she asked me if I went to college. I replied that I did. She answered, "Oh, that explains your liberal beliefs. You were brainwashed there."

It didn't dawn on her that maybe SHE was brainwashed by right wing propagandists that she followed on AM radio. Not to mention that I had liberal attitudes before I went to college.
