If they don't even understand that Obamacare and the Affordable Care Act are the same thing, how will they ever get something as complicated as Keynesian monetary theory through their heads..

How about.. "You fucked up, BIG time."

Aw, I'm just having a little fun with my rum...

Well, for another little chuckle.

I posted this elsewhere but here again-----

As fate would have it, I will be in St Petersburg, the REAL one, at the Mariinsky Theater Concert Hall RIGHT at the time of the urination at 12:00 noon EST on Friday(7 PM Russian time)... watching an operatic version of Dostoevsky's THE IDIOT !

The next day I will see PRINCE IGOR.

But there is...um..how can I say......a bit of a variety of views on events, Putin, etc.
Even among some artistic types, which are mostly the people I know and associate with..

If one really wants to get into it, just start discussing the political views of Valery Gergiev. I have met him a couple times backstage after concerts. (Google him if you don't know the name.)

1st time I was there was Jan 1985. It was snowing and 25 below zero!

I loved it and still do.

I would go out on a limb and say it is culturally the greatest city in the world.

As long as ONE Democrat holds elected office in this country Republicans will have someone to blame for EVERYTHING that's wrong in their opinion with the country.

But I'm pretty sure it is going to take some specific lie from their leaders, that DIRECTLY causes them trouble, to make any head way.

I know it is easy to think of them as either stupid or evil (or both) but I think it is a bit more complicated than that. Of course some of them fall into those categories but I think they are the minority in that party.

In my opinion, the real problem is that when their ideology is in conflict with reality, which happens quite often, they prioritize their ideology over reality.

This is why we see them constantly saying such crazy things as Climate Change not being real or that tax cuts for the rich help the poor. These things have been proven to be incorrect but their ideology prevents them from comprehending that reality.

I don't know how to deprogram someone when reality isn't enough.

Ideology for most of them is irrelevant. How can you watch a creep with zero convictions be elected President and think it has anything to do with ideology. Destroying the pillars of government involves bitterness and resentment and not a programmed ideology (see Russia).
