2. I think it's more likely that Drumpf would have the USAF bomb suspected Iran and NK nuke sites

...either of which would result in an escalation by either countries.

Hey, if NK overruns SK, we'll get new M*A*S*H episodes.

but if Trump exhibits his manhood by nuking something (not a stretch) I hope the military has a Plan B to save the world.

6. I listened to Michael Hayden speak to this on Morning Joe. What he said terrified me.

He was asked a question about what checks, balances and restraints there are if a President wanted to launch a nuclear strike. He said the system was deliberately set up to be very quick, fast and immediate for a reason.

in launching the nukes.

Hillary mentioned they have about four minutes from the time the order is given, and I've heard that elsewhere too.

I wanted Hillary to mention this aspect of the Presidency far more often. Maybe even runs ads similar to the "Daisy" ad of 1964. I suspect that many voters, even among some who voted for Trump, would've felt that he's far less reliable to handle such a responsibility.

They even had the grown up little girl from that ad talk about why she was supporting Hillary.

12. I was talking to my young Marine Corp nephew about having a short-tempered lunatic as CIC

and the danger of him having the nuclear football within a few feet of him at ALL times. I told him that he could order a launch within minutes, unrestrained. My nephew said, "Oh, NO way. He has to go through channels and get approval from top military brass and advisers before sending missiles out of their silos!"
Ummm...no, he does not. He didn't believe me or his Grandma, as she told him the same thing.
This is a huge problem. People just don't know these things and they make little effort to educate themselves. There's just too much ignorance and intellectual laziness.

It's a pretty crazy set-up, after all.

60 Minutes did a report on the possibility a few weeks back too. The military leaders with direct knowledge of the protocols certainly didn't deny that it could happen.

It would not be and the CiC would be arrested for treason.

I have no doubt Putin would launch on us if he thought he could get away with it. His actions around the world indicate this to me. What if Drumpt is so compromised he lowers defenses to the point it makes us vulnerable to a First Strike? Drumpt figures he and his family would survive anyway.
