I never felt this way about another president. As much as I disagreed with Nixon, Ford, Reagan, and The Bushes I never felt as if they wanted to intentionally do harm to the people I care about.

I told my buddy Drumpf reminds me of the type of guy who would get two homeless men to fight and promise to pay the winner fifty dollars and then not pay the victor.

We just passed the 2nd anniversary of my sister's death, and the 2nd anniversary of my mom's is in two weeks. So this nightmarish travesty is happening smack in the middle of what is already a pretty intense period of mourning. My ability to function is running on empty.

I was in high school. Some students wore black arm bands to express their distress. Maybe I will wear one on inauguration day, as a gesture of mine.

I have accused myself of being melodramatic, but not since 1978, when my younger brother and only sibling died in an ice diving disaster, have I felt this much despair and unwillingness to accept reality. I remember standing in our dining room before leaving for his memorial service, saying to myself, "This can't be happening. This can't be happening. THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING."

That happened. This is happening. it is so very, very much more than the difference between party philosophies. It is the difference between decency, dignity and decorum on the one hand and depravity and decadence on the other.
