Corporations, “dreading being the subject of a tweet,” are recycling jobs announcements to please Donald Trump

"All they're doing is announcing investments that they would have made anyway"

BRENDAN GAUTHIER

Donald Trump’s job creation claims aren’t necessarily as overinflated as is his involvement, says NBC News.

“Companies eager to avoid becoming the target of the next attack by President-elect Donald Trump are preemptively — or retroactively — announcing U.S. job creation plans,” NBC found. “But peel back a layer and the promises come with some caveats. A company’s plan to increase capital expenditures, which include jobs and facility improvements, are typically years in the making. Some of these ‘announcements’ are old news in a new hat.”

Corporations repackaging U.S. job creating “announcements” include: GM, which promised 1,500 jobs; Wal-Mart, which promised 10,000; and Bayer, who says a proposed merger with Monsanto would keep 9,000 and add 3,000 domestic jobs.

“This is the normal course of business,” Maryann Keller, an independent auto industry consultant, told Bloomberg. “All they’re doing is announcing investments that they would have made anyway.”

bullcrap. Each and every so called JOB was or is,has been in the Company Plans for several years at best.
Yesterday I was a my local Lowe's,and the Assistant Store Manager who I know,he and I were chatting about sales and inventory,up came the Store Manager, get this,in front of a customer,he fires the Guy. This is 11:30 AM,Lowe's Corporate Office fired all approximately 2400 assistant Store Managers, bam just like that. And if this fellow want's to stay with Lowe's,he has to reapply for any existing job openings.

Here is a real kicker, remember WalMart fired several thousand Corporate Employees in Bentonville Arkansas. Can you imagine the grief going on in that town,I guess they could get a job in Springdale plucking chickens.

Did not hear a peep out of the Golden Uninator about those jobs going away did you. Oh,forgot, these two companies are big time GOP contributors.
