don't know the story well.
Why hasn't he been pardoned yet if it was indeed a political witch hunt?

There was a movie starring Anthony Quinn and James Coburn, High Wind to Jamaica.

The pirates are sentenced to be hanged for a murder they didn't commit.

Coburn asks Quinn, "Why are you letting this happen? Just tell them!"

Quinn says, "Surely you've done something they could hang you for, eh?"

That's Siegelman.

.......but didn't the Obama justice department fight Siegelman's appeals? Or am I thinking of a different case?

Anyway, if the President doesn't issue a pardon or commutation, it could be because Siegelman will get out in August anyway. Though, on further reflection, I don't know what difference that would make.

There was all sorts of insanity going on when you look at the details of the case. There was a lot of evidence he wasn't even allowed to see. As far as Obama's JD, there is only mention of the trial which was under Bush.

I've emailed, texted, sent letters, signed petitions. I can't understand why this poor man is still in jail.
