Insight...

from my friend Melinda~

For many who were raised by alcoholics, addicts, abusers, the mentally ill, veterans with PTSD, or dads who had bouts of depression or flareups of rage, Trump is the archetypal Bad Father. He might be pleasant one moment, harshly critical the next, or fly into a rage at the slightest upset. A childhood of walking on eggshells, knowing that the person who's in charge, who's supposed to take care of you, is unhinged and capable of causing great harm. He's in the driver's seat, and he's racing you towards the cliff.

There are unlimited reasons to fear this bizarre creature, especially if you belong to one of the groups he has targeted, but the simple desire to see life on earth continue is universal, and the Authoritarian-in-Chief doesn't seem to care about that.

This is a time to grapple with our fears, on every level. We are not helpless children, we need to survive and thrive, and we need to resist. As Patti Smith says, we have the power to "wrestle the world from fools". We have to wrestle our world back because it's ours, because the love and the mystery and all the splendid beings are ours, and we have a sacred duty to protect it.

When I see Trump I see so much of my father and it scares the crap out of me.
