If drinking through the inauguration wasnt enough of a draw for Chicagoans, the bar added that it would donate a percentage of drink sale revenues to Planned Parenthood.
In a post on Facebook, Hopleaf Bar wrote, This Friday may be an occasion where youll want to take a drink or two. With No TVs & No Screens, Hopleaf is a Trump-Free Zone. On Inauguration Day well be donating 10% of the days drink sale revenues to Planned Parenthood.
Residents of Chicago have planned a series of rallies and protests across the city on Friday, including outside the Chicago Trump Tower. Another group is holding an all-day strike calling for walk-outs from work and school, and no shopping.

(6,975 posts)She is now my wife. But early in our relationship we would do our laundry at the mat a couple doors down from Hopleaf and we would throw down a few Belgians and get all snuggly and buzzed while our clothes spun about. This was back in the mid 90s through early 2000s.
Hopleaf has a ton of great Belgians on tap and in bottles, as well as other craft brews. They started doing food about 15 years or so ago. Great mussels and French/Belgian country fare. It was way chill in the 90s with good crowds on the weekend, but you could still get a seat.
Nowadays I recommend getting there before 4 pm. on any day if you want to get seated for dinner, and forget about the weekend for a date unless they're into rubbing elbows. Just go early, park your butt with some good friends, and enjoy.
(P.S. became really awesome after the smoking ban. Remember your leather coat smelling like an ash tray all week?)
