Conversation at Work this AM

My coworkers: "You know those protesters
are being paid 3500.00 to protest Trump".

Me: "That has been debunked. Check out Snopes. Even Tucker Carlson said it was not true."

My coworkers: "You shouldn't believe what you read on the Internet."

Me (in my head) Well where in the hell did you get the idea protesters were being paid?

I work in IT. These are suppose to be bright people but I find the lack of critical thinking astounding.

America had a pretty good time of it after WWII, but a lot has been going downhill since then, and now a landslide.

there's an article printed that seems to support their beliefs. Then it's true!

EDIT: I wasn't very impressed by the computer science majors at my university years ago, by the way. Several of them seemed to be naive Libertarians who were mostly concerned about making money than really trying to understand the world.

I was asked what I think about what is going on in America, I replied I don't talk about politics at work.

And while it is our job to engage with hundreds of members daily, politics is just not broached. Even among co-workers, we try to avoid possible heated conversations during work hours.
When it got out yesterday that I was driving with my daughter to Washington ( a recent knee replacement will keep me sidelined from the physical March) dozens of co-workers/members came up and were so supportive and excited, People I thought weren't at all political or even cared. I was re-energized about the importance of our causes.

The Stupid is vocal, but not the majority.
