The man about the become president had to pay $25 million to Americans he ripped off

This is not normal. It's astounding, and it's nearly as astounding that it happened with barely any notice in the media.

The people he conned were typical of the people who voted for him - they thought he was going to give them a way of making more money, and they naively trusted that he was really going to do something for them in return for what they gave - tuition fees, or votes. But it was all a scam, and the media has moved on from it, as if it's obvious that anyone who puts their trust in Trump is going to be disappointed, and they were foolish to do so, and even more to risk their own money.

But Trump voters have done the same thing, but risking their country - and thus the country of many more people who were wise enough to stay the fuck away from that conman. And the media sees him both as the kind of huckster who has to pay millions to people in compensation just as a normal part of his business method, and as a politician whose claims to care about the electorate should be taken at face value.

It's doublethink. And the media wants the world to join them in this doublethink.
