Jackie Evancho singing at Inauguration

Jackie Evancho's voice today was not anywhere as good as was when she appeared on Britain's Got Talent. I have heard that child prodigies often have hard transitioning as they mature.

But often being outdoors in colder weather has an affect on a singer's voice. Think of the singers who have botched the national anthem at a (outdoor) football game in the winter.

She did it because she knew that cold weather would affect her voice.

I don't think it's a fair comparison.

Voices do change, but I thought she sounded fine. I'm not going to judge her based on who hired her for the gig.

if her voice was a little thin--but cold, wet weather can do that. I was pleased as I listened that she wasn't messing around with the tune, just singing it straight, but then, at the end, she did that caterwauling octave jump on "brave" and I took all my praise back.
