Honeybees appear to be swarming in W. PA

http://www.pixcontroller.com/WebCam/WebCam-Wildlife2.htm

This is a good thing, but is there someone at the site who will capture them and get them into a hive? Right now, they appear to be swarming around the feeder top right.

3. I don't think they are swarming in the usual sense

Bees only swarm in the spring and early summer so they will have time to build a new hive. Most likely I would guess that someone or something (a bear maybe) has disturbed the hive that was there already. I am not an expert however. Cool site!

4. that was my first thought as well...

I kept bees for 6 years. If they "swarm" in the winter, that's not a good thing. probably an underfed bear or raccoon looking for food.

7. I was surprised to see it, too

There have been a great number of them buzzing around that bird feeder all day. I bet their nest was disturbed. The people who run this site are knowledgeable, though, and I suspect/hope they'll do what's right.

5. Hope they are ok

I would like to build one of these:

Supposedly the bees are more resistant to diseases and so on.
