Remembering Jim Letherer--Selma, 1965

My city is having a protest march tomorrow. I am recovering from a knee injury and have decided against going, which is making me feel really conflicted. About 60 people from my church are going and will be parking in the church lot and shuttling over in their bus, so I thought I would go over beforehand and hand out fruit, granola bars, water, and extra poster boards and sharpies in case anyone still needed to make a sign. Still, I feel wimpy when I think of Jim Letherer, who marched the 50 miles from Selma to Montgomery in 1965 on crutches.
