What SHOULD be in the Democratic platform in '18 and '20(in addition to what's there now)?

This is just about strengthening what we have already.

I'll start with these.

1) Restoration of all cuts in human services made by this administration.
2) Labor law reform.
3) A real economic conversion program for extractive industry states to transition to "green jobs".
4) Opposition to increases in the war budget.

Good one. That could help with economic transition in extractive states, too. Ken Burch Jan 2017 #2

You can grow the stuff pretty much anywhere, if you know how.

IMO, Hillary lost PA, MI and WI because people didn't trust her on the TPP (and other trade issues) and felt they needed to vote for Trump to try and save their jobs.

If we don't build a credible case for why we are the party defending their jobs, we won't ever win those voters back. We need to start ASAP and we need to make it clear it is a priority.

Without those states, we are screwed. Someone better have a plan to win them back.

and until the media decides to do its job again

none of this will matter.

If we can't get more Dems excited or able to vote, and if we can't get the districts drawn fairly, and if the brainwashing continues, what we saw today will continue.

But fighting to ensure voters' rights doesn't conflict with the idea of this thread.

In fact, I made a proposal about that in another thread:

We can do BOTH.

I'd say we should propose a constitutional amendment officially declaring a RIGHT to vote.

I don't think we have to avoid discussing anything ELSE to achieve it.
