All of Trumps appointments are a message that Hispanics will NOT be allowed any say in public policy or government. And the message includes blacks as well. The few blacks on display are just useful idiot for political cover.

Ultimately Trump and his supporters wants minorities out of the country or sequestered in areas where they will have little political power or say. Any fool can see what these bigots are up to.

So expect pogroms against blacks, hispanics and LGBTQ. There is definitely a stench in the air. the other players in this administration are the worst of the worst and are white supremacist demanding purity.

I don't think many Trumpkins have thought through the demographic consequences for Latino-bashing even starting as early as 2018.

Latino-bashing is different from bashing Afro-Americans. There are a lot more of them, and there are a lot of them in electoral vote-rich states.

I tried to imagine the results of last year's election if Thump carried every state he took last time except Texas and Arizona. There are already enough Mexican-Americans in Texas to mean that the Lone Star State is no longer majority-white and every year more and more of them turn 18. I don't have the figures for Arizona, but I'm pretty sure it's no longer as majority-white as it was in 1980. if just those two states flip, Donnie or Mikey are not going to have enough electoral votes to win again.

Texas Latinos have traditionally been non-voters. Take away Medicare, take away the ACA, diss even the Latinos who've been thoroughly Americanized, and Donnie and the Rethugs will find that 2020 will be a very different political landscape.

I suspect that most of the Trumpkins in Dixie, the Rust Belt, and the Northern Great Plains States assume that Latinos, for example, are all folks who arrived at earliest 20 to 30 years ago, that most are here illegally, and that if the ICE rounds them up and deports them, even border states like Texas and Arizona will again be majority-white.

Donnie definitely wants to do away with the ACA, even though a lot of Republican politicians are now contracting cases of cold feet.

The Rethuglies (and more than a few D's) think that Latinos are fixated on the Dreamers and bilingual education. Those are important, but the economic and social assistance issues areprobably even more important. Most Latinos outside Florida's Cuban population are from working-class backgrounds and some had impoverished grandparents.


I think this can work as top-down class warfare intensifies.
