Seattle- man shot at University of Washington

Milo Yiannopoulos is speaking there tonight and there was a conflict between fans of his who were trying to get into hall and protestors against him.

Local tv is reporting that anarchists may be involved.

One person was shot during a protest at the University of Washington against a controversial editor for the conservative website Breitbart

Yiannopoulos was about 45 minutes into his speech at Kane Hall when he stopped for a moment then told the crowd that there had been a shooting.

The Seattle Police Department said one person was shot in the abdomen. The Seattle Fire Department said the man had suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Harborview Medical Center.

There had been clashes between protesters and people trying to enter the speech. Police said protesters threw paint balls and bricks, and there were reports of punches being thrown.

I would like to note here that a reporter on Kiro was stressing that the majority of the well attended protests in Seattle today were attended by people engaging in peaceful protest and exercising their rights to do so.

It sounds like there might be a mix of people there, with people who were there to attend event, students who were there protesting, protestors against Trump who were coming there from downtown protest and some black bloc protesters.
