My daughter posted this on facebook today

I told the girls (in the car on the way to the bus stop this morning) that today's event just means we have more responsibility than we knew we had yesterday. Anything we felt strongly about but didn't actively work for, we must now fight for -- and not just for ourselves but for our loved ones, those around us, and especially for those who can't actively do so themselves. We have to get involved and stay involved.

... I was about to get into something longer and, of course, incredibly inspiring but the bus showed up early. :/

Tommottow she and the girls will march in Little Rock

Good on you.

I hope she has a great time at the march in Little Rock tomorrow. She will make many memories she will keep forever.

BTW, my Mom lives in Arkansas. I am going to go get her and bring her to live with me in California in a couple of months.

4. Well, you should seriously think about moving back home, Lucinda!

Do you have family still here? Old friends? When I moved here, I flew out, stayed in a motel while I rented a place (which I found in about 3 days, thankfully), then I flew back, got my stuff, my daughter, my dog, and my cat, and drove here in 3 days. (I was determined.)

I thank my lucky stars my daughter and I are here (hubby is a native Californian). My Mom is all alone now and in her 80s. She is a staunch Democrat in a sea of red. I was going to bring her out here anyway, but now it's even more important.

5. I've been gone about 25 years. No family still there. A childhood friend is a cantor in SF

but i've lost touch with most everyone else.

It would be much better for my health problems to move back, but it's sooooo expensive now!

My mom was born in Arkansas and after decades in Cali went back home to be with her mom before they both died. I'm still in the south somehow...weird how the world works these days!

Abby moved out a good while ago

When we moved to Thurston county WA some years back one of the first things she did was to try and contact the Young Dems there ... turned out there wasn't one, so she started one.

She was on the Thurston County Executive Committee with me (her mom was the precinct official )

She was still in High School and couldn't drive so it seemed like I was taking her to Seattle or Tacoma every other weekend for some political training or event. We were volunteers for Dean and were on the staff for his first Seattle appearance.

She went to Buffalo for the young Dems Convention and was on their platform Committee.

Abby went to Boston as a page for the Wa delegation to the DNC (She was on the floor for Senator Barack Obama's speech) She also met Al Franken there.

She flew to Washinton a with her mom for the March for Women's Lives =

all this before she went to college at Sweetbriar!

Sorry to go on so long (I could continue) Yes, we are extremely proud of her. proud of her!
