All the polls said so. All the pundits said so. Everybody was so sure Trump would lose that there was no incentive to do it. Now there is.

and those of us who expressed "concern" were mocked and shut down as trolls. No wonder people didn't feel much urgency about gettng out to vote - our little echo chamber here (and elsewhere) rejected any suggestion that we night need to turn the heat up a bit.

The nice sounding one is because it's a Saturday, but more importantly, no one thought Trump could win.

The real one is because the election wasn't really a good virtue signalling opportunity. Too much effort, not enough reward. Marches are another thing entirely. Lots of good attention to be gained, leave anytime you want, party-style environment, some are likely paid, and TONS OF MEDIA.

To know anything about the modern social-media obsessed person (that's about 90% of them), you must first think of how it affects their narcissism. I'm not even kidding.

EDIT TO ADD: To be clear, I'm not saying in any way that all marchers are like this or that's why they are there (especially not those who attended from here). It's intended as a general answer to the size overall, not an accusation against anyone.

Voting, you show up, stand in line, vote, go home. These marches involve much more effort, driving, parking, finding food and restrooms, a big effort.

Hopefully, we can get out the vote in 2020, and I wish good health upon the current Justices
