Fricking amazing! This was one of the greatest experiences of my life! 500,000+ plus people of all ages, skin tones, genders. Families, kids, older people with canes. 3 times more people, at least, than anticipated. We never got anywhere near the rally but it didn't matter.
So many marchers we encircled the White House! I have never seen so many people in one place.
It was a crushing, joyous, kind, friendly crowd.
Now we're opening the wine and celebrating day 1 of the resistance.
I'll post pics later if I can figure out how.

Were in my eyes for much of the day.

(522 posts)I was in such a funk yesterday. Today I am on cloud 9. I couldn't join a March in person, but have been reading about all the marches all over the world. The pictures are phenomenal. Thanks for going and thanks for sharing!

(45,427 posts)it was so awesome! And so safe and peaceful compared to yesterday. The mood in the air in DC was more optimistic and friendly today.
I was worried about Trumper agent provocateurs causing violence but still went.

Enjoy your vino~
Tears of joy at first, amazement and admiration after. I talked to people from Toronto, Nebraska, Belize.
We circled the White House. People as far as the eye could see. Nothing like it ever!

(15,366 posts)My firstborn son accompanied me and later posted on FB that he was there to support his mom, his wife (who chose to stay with their young sons), and ALL women everywhere!
We got inadvertently separated early on and for awhile were unable to use our cells because the cell towers were evidently jammed for a time. But we eventually were able to communicate and find each other for most of the day.
The crowd made me VERY proud. Kindness and consideration were the order of the day. We did indeed go high!

(83,743 posts)Your description matches mine from Boston. We had an energized 175K, very peaceful and the police announced that there were no instances.

(53,410 posts)And for once the media is not only covering it but it's been the main theme all day today too. They show Trump doing something official and then immediately go back to talking about the march. You did good
