Is it too soon to start the countdown to January 20, 2020?

Of course, if we're lucky the current President may have left the office before January 2020, either voluntarily or by force (impeachment).
I had a secret hope that the inaugural speech would contain an announcement of resignation, but that was too optimistic.

Pence would be no prize, but at least he is closer to normal psychologically. I suspect Pence will be very much involved in formulating policy anyway, though he seems in many ways to be a syncophant.

1. Yes, because we need to focus on taking back both houses and several states in 2018! nt

2. I take your point. What I have in mind would be more a diversion so that

we wouldn't have to hear and see the Orange one and his mouthpiece Spicer at all hours of the day and night.

3. 2018 is vital

If the lunatic is still there in 2018 and gets a filibuster proof majority, we are doomed.

4. I doubt he'll last that long.

His hubris will eventually bring him down. He'll either resign or be impeached. He'd probably like nothing more than to go back to his gilded penthouse.
