Wow, television ratings just out: 31 million people watched the Inauguration, 11 million more than the very good ratings from 4 years ago!

(6,931 posts)According to Nielsen data examined by Bloomberg, Trumps ratings fell below those for the first inaugurations of former Presidents Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama.
Obama's 2009 inauguration had 7 million more viewers, the news outlet reported, while almost 11 million more people watched Reagan be sworn into office in 1981.

Comrade Casino (R) already dodged the draft, and dodged paying any taxes at all. The KGOP loved this and made him their party nominee because he is so frikken "clever."
Now Comrade Casino's dodging the pathetic fact that his inauguration crowd was tiny, and that the Women's March was yuuuge.

(18,868 posts)are so stupid that they will just believe anything he says. Anything else is just fake news.
What he isn't getting is that his followers are a real minority. A lot of people who voted for him didn't like him. They just saw him as the lesser of two evils. And a lot of people didn't vote at all because they didn't like either candidate. That doesn't mean they support his ideas at all.
He just goes out there and screams "fake news" and that is supposed to make it all go away.
At least he is aware of the marches. We did get his attention. More importantly I hope we got the attention if the assholes in Congress .

(61,588 posts)And it doesn't matter now what any of us think. The Republicans have all the power and they don't care what anybody thinks.

(18,868 posts)amount of pressure on those assholes on Congress. We did it over Vietnam Nam and we can do it again.
We have to. Our democracy is at stake.

(16,072 posts)Those Republicans in office during the protests of Vietnam, were concerned about how they were perceived...this current batch are looking for ways to get rid of what they consider the "surplus population", and they don't give a damn about what any of us think about them!
We need to get rid of the Republicans in congress and then put pressure on the Democrats who get those seats!!!
leftyladyfrommo
(18,868 posts)But not all of them.
And, of course, we need to get Democrats back in office. But that is 2 years way.
We need to really keep the pressure on the ones that are there now. They need to know that every step they take will be broadcast to the whole nation.
I saw something really different in the KC Star this morning. There was a pretty big article on Trump trying to say his turnout was the biggest ever. The paper called him out on every lie he made. Over and over again.
I haven't seen that done to that degree before.
