That would force him to admit that an entity exists that is more powerful and important than he is.

attended (the church service at the African-American church during the campaign in which he looked painfully clueless) and the service on the day of the inauguration (he looked like a toddler on the verge of a tantrum because he was so bored). He can't even fake "piety" for an hour so no I don't believe he has any belief in a higher being in any way whatsoever.

When he stopped by Liberty University, he oddly referred to the book of the Bible called Second Corinthians as "Two Corinthians," as if he had never heard it said out loud before.

It's a little sing-song to memorize the books of the new testament. I didn't find the exact version I learned (and I suspect he was at least exposed to). The verion I learned uses the same trick for Corinthians as this version does for 1st John, 2nd John and 3rd John. (i.e. Two Corinthians)

He has said it out loud before, he just didn't realize that when the sing-song said "Two Corinthians" it meant 1st and second Corinthians.

While Trump's only god is what he sees in the mirror, he does believe in the same Calvinist determinism that has long served other men of inherited wealth so well for so long. Superior men are known by the wealth "god has blessed them with," while the poor are despised by god and have to work hard to attain heaven, preferably being martyred so they don't continue to breed and mess up the scenery.

This is what the godly in all those little wingnut churches out there don't get, that the 0.1% feel their ticket to heaven has been punched no matter how much evil they do in this world but the godly will never get there because they don't have money.

It's why that old tyme religion has so much to do with the OT and so little to do with Jesus, grooving on the myth at Easter and Xmas but ignoring everything the man said.

There is nothing odd at all with their theology. Standard stuff.

They hate every religion but their own including other more mainstream christians. They are also the most hypocritical people I have ever met. I left the church when I left my house at 16.

Among other criticisms of this selfish pholosophy, I detest that whole idea that bad things happen to people because they themselves somehow bring it on.

Ayn Rand would have liked this.
