American Sovereignty Restoration Act of 2017

This bill repeals the United Nations Participation Act of 1945 and other specified related laws.

The bill requires: (1) the President to terminate U.S. membership in the United Nations (U.N.), including any organ, specialized agency, commission, or other formally affiliated body; and (2) closure of the U.S. Mission to the United Nations.

The bill prohibits: (1) the authorization of funds for the U.S. assessed or voluntary contribution to the U.N., (2) the authorization of funds for any U.S. contribution to any U.N. military or peacekeeping operation, (3) the expenditure of funds to support the participation of U.S. Armed Forces as part of any U.N. military or peacekeeping operation, (4) U.S. Armed Forces from serving under U.N. command, and (5) diplomatic immunity for U.N. officers or employees.

as I can remember. This bill that was introduced is just more of the same. And like previous bills, it won't make it to the floor for a vote, I think.

The Wacko Right hates the UN. But, I doubt we'll pull out of it anytime soon. I could be wrong, though. This is going to be some really weird times coming up.

but it died in committee. This one may meet a similar end, but who knows, now that Drumpf is the boss. Expect more of this flag-waving, reactionary shit in the days (weeks, months, years) ahead. The right wing is turning the U.S. into a toilet.

...the UN will have a great deal more freedom to act security council wise without the US being there, especially in regards to Israel. The security council could do anything they wanted in regards to Israel and Donald J. Putinfluffer wouldn't be able to stop them if he has the US leave the UN. Unless of course Russia decides to do so instead as a favor to Putinfluffer. But otherwise if Russia doesn't veto stuff that leaves that door wide open.
