I have several, as of today, most of them demanding that we all put on happy faces because we live in such a great country, yadda, yadda, yadda.
My "favorite" is one demanding respectful behavior, with this grammatically-tortured comment:
"Be careful, you are acting in the very hate in which you claim to stand against."
Uhhh, yeah. I intend to be just as nice as conservatives were to Obama during his 8 years. Deal with that, Trumpistas.

(2,573 posts)far right cabinet picks show me that he is not interested in bringing the country together. There are many examples of Trashbag not giving a shit but I'm keeping it simple. All I'm seeing is the fervor dying down on that side and picking up on ours.

(26,044 posts)...he mocked the disabled reporter.
And that was being generous -- it would have been more reasonable for his "chance" to have run out the minute he claimed Mexican immigrants were rapists.
TrekLuver
(2,573 posts)since he uttered the Mexicans shit...I said that's it ! But that's what I tell them...that Ok he won and after that I gave him a chance....I put aside his divisive tweets (I didn't) blah blah blah...and here is his cabinet picks...and here is that awful inauguration speech...so I think there is plenty right there to say OK I gave him a chance after the election and he could give a shit about reaching out to the other side.
His comment about the marchers not voting....well I think the people who didn't vote or many that did not care or didn't think he'd win...they care now.

I got one of those followed closely with how all celebrities need to keep their opinions to themselves. Then this about the WMOW being wrong because women are treated better in this country and we should focus on straightening out the rest of the world...yadda, yadda, yadda! When I questioned it I was told to shut the fuck up.

(41,976 posts)Something about Barron-- mostly I'm not friends with too many people who would vote for that asshole Trump--a few--, but this guy is a RN I know, a great nurse, but not too smart in many other areas. Plus his wife voted for Hillary. I ignore him when he gets political. If he gets pushy I'll tell him off.

(28,339 posts)and that is why we have never heard him speak.
It makes perfect sense. Trump is clearly an absentee "father." Melania barely speaks English. You can bet the nannies all speak Slovenian. Why wouldn't Barron have a thick accent and/or be functionally illiterate in English?

I told her that agreeing to disagree is for things like "I don't like coffee" not "I don't like black people" (someone posted that on twitter and I thought it was great so I borrowed it and use it frequently.
She replied we all have to respect each other's opinion, to which someone else jumped in and said "not when those opinions will cause my children harm, we don't".
But yes--you almost never hear anyone but trumpies saying "get over it, move forward".

(26,619 posts)One "friend" wrote some drivel about how nice all the women get together but wouldn't it help more to open your checkbook and help, blah, blah, blah.
Now, I've been basically ignoring this traitor to women, but had to reach out and inform her the women who march are activists. We are the ones supporting progressive causes that actuallly work to improve people's lives, so really, just what is your problem with our First amendment right to peacefully assemble? Haven't heard back.

(82,383 posts)A post is making rounds on social media, in response to the Womens March on Saturday, January 21, 2017. It starts with I am not a disgrace to women because I dont support the womens march. I do not feel I am a second class citizen because I am a woman .
This is my response to that post.
Say Thank You
Say thank you. Say thank you to the women who gave you a voice. Say thank you to the women who were arrested and imprisoned and beaten and gassed for you to have a voice. Say thank you to the women who refused to back down, to the women who fought tirelessly to give you a voice. Say thank you to the women who put their lives on hold, who lucky for you did not have better things to do than to march and protest and rally for your voice. So you dont feel like a second class citizen. So you get to feel equal.
Thank Susan B. Anthony and Alice Paul for your right to vote.
Thank Elizabeth Stanton for your right to work.

(10,715 posts)thin-skinned, oversensitive snowflakes. Ask them if they need to go back to their safe space. They invented the use of the word as slander, and it happens to fit them well.
The other day I popped back onto the facebook page of a relative I'd put on ignore before the election. She had a bunch of reposted RW stuff still, and one of them was about how "those snowflakes" need to toughen up and live in the real world, like abusing people to make them strong is a favor to them. I wrote a reply, something like "When I was in school I came to understand that bullies are basically much more thin-skinned, insecure and needy than their victims. After that it was fairly easy to use a little psychology on them, and I never had further problems, never had to 'toughen up'. But you can never respect or trust someone like that; all of my friends have always been snowflakes."...then I didn't post it, probably not much point.
