Received a death threat on another (non-political) site tonight

It scared the shit out of me. All I did was respond to a post about "chess and the election". The article said that the choice was hard. I responded in the comments that "no it wasn't" Someone then posted that I was right and it was obvious that Trump was the correct but flawed choice. I obviously responded that that was the opposite of what I meant by saying that the choice was obvious and that Trump was a danger and that I opposed him with every fiber of my being.

As a result I received the following threat (from a different poster) on my home page:

SgtBarnes
What a politically correct cunnt u are!!! either get on the trump train or hang on a tree!! u probably anyways gonna hang, cause ur points of view are a mental disease!!! and it doesnt seem like u guys are gonna get healed soon... so have fun with that bullet in ur head...........................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahahahhahhHAHAHAHHA

I took it as a threat. Not a direct one but it scared me. I have contacted the site administrators and they have revoked the guys right to post. Unfortunately, they didn't revoke his right to play which I disagree with.

I'm posting this to REMIND EVERYONE TO LIMIT YOUR INTERNET FOOTPRINT. These assholes are real and this situation is very real. We need to remember to be careful. I have since removed several location identifying information from that site. I never post my location for public view but I innocently did on this site because I considered it non-political and thus safe. It was not!

I wouldn't worry about online threats like this. Drumpf's deplorable followers are pro-bullies that are going to threaten everyone they can.

He flipped cuz I wasn't a tRump supporter. Oh, and I wasn't that interested in waving the American Flag in people's faces to prove my patriotism. He deleted, but not before I screen capped. Of course it was an angry white guy of the appropriate age - we all know these "angry white men".

First off, be safe. Second off, I would turn this threat in to the fuzz.

We know in most cases the cops aren't going to do jack shit, but when these angry old douche cannons threaten the wrong person or business all of a sudden they can find themselves facing a shitload of trouble.

I think that's sort of what happened to this guy. There was a mountain of evidence against him and he knew if he fought it he'd be going to jail for a long time.

A retired Dubuque Police Department captain was given two years of probation after pleading guilty to sending harassing postcards to local businesses.

Gerald M. Sjobakken, 78, of <address redacted>, was sentenced this week in Iowa District Court of Dubuque County after he pleaded guilty to four counts of third-degree harassment.

Court documents said Sjobakken sent several harassing letters to two businesses, including the Telegraph Herald. One letter to the TH suggested an accused mass shooter should have “wiped out” TH Editorial Board members. Sjobakken also was charged with harassing two TH editors with postcards.

Sjobakken also wrote a letter suggesting a gas explosion “waking up” another local business, court documents said.

Now he had been sending nasty postcards to a lot of people and businesses in town, myself included. The community had to have a come to Jesus moment with the Telegraph Herald to get them to stop publishing addresses on letters to the editor because it was encouraging this idiot to send out his crap to others. It used to be that I would just circular file his crap without even bothering to look at it, but when I heard how much of an issue it was in town, how many people he was harassing - including young women with sexually obscene mailings, I started turning the stuff in. I knew they probably wouldn't do anything, but it was another thing to saddle him with if they ever decided to charge him.

a threat like this, other than ISIS, they would be easily found out. And I think they know it.
