So when do the Right Wing Senators and US Reps get pissed about the trade wars coming?

So Drumpf wants to renegotiate NAFTA. But that could easily put the midwestern states who export a lot to Canada and Mexico in serious trouble. Will the right wing Governors, Senators, and US Reps start throwing down on Drumpf or will they just roll over and take it. I'm sure many of these companies are big spenders to their campaigns. If those companies start stopping the funding they might wake the fuck up??

Lots of what ifs going on right now.

Can you elaborate a bit? What do these states export, I truly don't know. 50 Shades Of Blue Jan 2017 #2

and congress can simply say no.

what donnie can do is withdraw from tpp (already happening) and refuse to negotiate new trade deals.

and if he does "renegotiate nafta", e.g., the senate can refuse to ratify if it's they think it will ignite a trade war.

so i'm not sure donnie will get the chance to start a trade war.

Do Senators, US Reps, Governors, Local state Sens and Reps, etc. have it in them to kill themselves politically? I would think not. Especially when the Trumpanzee blue collar voters in Ohio, Michigan, Texas, etc. show up and say "WTF are you doing to kill this trade BS" conversations start happening.

but most of the rest of the republican congresscritters represent big global companies that would lose out bigly in a trade war.

i don't see him getting a majority, certainly not in the senate, behind major protectionism.

donnie's best case, i think, is to get some very small protectionism in, so that he can tout it as a victory and the republican rank-and-file will eat it up, while big ceos can see it as something nominal and harmless.

is what Trump plans to do about automation, which is a big part of the reason manufacturing jobs are going away? Is he going to put out a tweet ordering that companies stop replacing workers with robots. Hell, even McDonalds may start automating, which is going to put people out of work.
