The War On Truth
I am originally trained, undergraduate, as an economist. If I had it to do over again I would have pursued a PhD and a career as an economist. I love economics. I am of the Paul Krugman, modern mainstream neoclassical synthesis, salt water school. You might call that Keynes, although I am told that's not accurate.
The logic of of this school of thought is compelling in the current environment. I have taken much from the fresh water, Milton Friedman types. Their scholarship and discipline is unquestionable so I respect that. Other alleged schools are political, not economic. Facts are facts and if you're going around saying we need to affect supply when there are no models to support your theories and you're clearly playing fast and loose with empirical evidence, then you're a fraud. Right? A charlatan. This is especially true when you can find the confabulators of these theories stating unequivocally that they have to perpetuate a fraud.
People, they are lying and with the election of this piece of garbage, Trump, they are elevating the lies to new heights. They lied and lied about Hillary Clinton, and people here much to my horror have bought many of those lies. They lied about Barack Obama. Do you ever hear them talk about the depression they caused in 2008? Do you hear them talking about the mistake that was the invasion of Iraq? No. They lie about President Obama creating ISIS, when it was their stupid invasion and their turning away Ba'athist officers that created ISIS. They continue to lie about Benghazi. They lied and lied about the e-mail.
And they are rewarded for these lies.
We need to fight this war.
