...demand she speak out for immigrants like herself. Demand she account for her own questionable entry into the U.S. and stand with 11 million other immigrants that her husband is treating like criminals.
Either speak out, or just go hide in shame in Trump Tower while your husband destroys lives like your own.

(28,333 posts)but I guess she didn't really need English for her job as Trump's piece of ass - just put on a blond wig and say "daddy" over and over.

(1,273 posts)My brother in law grew up in a small town in Slovenia, just like Melania. Besides the Slovenian he had to learn Serbo-Croatian and another language like German, French or English at school. As parts of Slovenia belonged to Italia or Hungaria before the founding of Yugoslavia there are ethnic groups with Italian or Hungarian as first language whose children left school with knowledge of four languages. Tourism is a major part of the economy and has been since the 1970s, so speaking German and English is part of job descriptions for many Slovenians. Melania also lived in Italy and France, so I have no doubt she can at least speak some sentences. And while her English surely is not perfect, I feel there are other much worse things to criticize about her.

(70,071 posts)we know she scrubbed her web page when her college degree turned out to be a fraud. and we know that she got a visa based on being some sort of economically valuable talent, not just a pretty face, or a rich man's toy.
i dont give a hoot about her pictures, except that many a sex slave took her path. many a willing sex worker did, and many a pure young lady did., too
but donald trump has been accused of violently attacking young girls who were lured to parties w promises of modeling careers.
and he owns a modeling agency. many are fronts for prostitution, willing and otherwise.
and then their is that dossier.
sorry shitgibbon. i want a full investigation into this.
again, i do not approach this as a prude. good on them both for having flamboyant sex lives. if we are talking about willing adults.
if not-

(85,986 posts)...I'm a friend and associate to many people who are beside themselves with fear over Trump's promise to deport them, and in many cases, divide families.
I don't give a fuck about what's politically correct here. I want his family to feel some of the pressure he's so callously and deliberately inflicting on millions in this country.

(9,033 posts)She is one. She has no power, not even influence with her husband who disrespects her at every turn. She made a deal with a devil and she pays for that everyday; I refuse to heap more misery on her.

(85,986 posts)...all of this deference should be reserved for people who can't defend themselves - people who are so vulnerable to her husband's whim that they are sick with fear and trepidation.
The bigot billionaire president's wife shouldn't get any more deference or consideration than she and her husband gave the Obamas.

(9,033 posts)imo she is emotionally abused by that prick. As someone who has been in such a situation, I can't tell you how demoralizing and destructive it is to hear that one needs to buck up, speak up, stand up, or whatever. Sorry, (not sorry) I will continue to give her the consideration her husband and step-family does not.

(22,976 posts)The one that was lifted from Michelle Obama's. A staffer later fell on their sword, claiming "authorship," but earlier, Melania stated, "I wrote it with as little help as possible."
Of. course, Trump's minions chalked the controversy up to liberal media bias and blamed Hillary.
But if Melania's participating in the birtherism lie, well, that makes her fair game. Especially with all the incredibly racist and hateful things Repugs said about Michelle-- that she was a transsexual, an "ape in high heels," exchanged a "terrorist fist bump" with her husband, etc. Stopping now, as the more I write, the angrier I get.
